SUPER BOWL XLIX CELEBRITY GOLF CLASSIC

NEW YORK –Twenty-five members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame will head the field of golfers in the 29th Annual NFL Super Bowl Celebrity Golf Classic on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at the Wildfire Golf Club at the JW Marriott Resort in Desert Ridge, Arizona. 

Teams of amateur golfers will be captained by the Hall of Famers as well as former and current NFL players in 18-hole team scramble events to be played on both the Arnold Palmer and Nick Faldo designed courses at the Wildfire club.

Among the celebrity captains entered thus far are Pro Football Hall of Famers Dick Butkus, Randall McDaniel, Carl Eller, Lawrence Taylor, Richard Dent,  Dermontti Dawson, Ted Hendricks, Lem Barney, Willie Lanier,  Paul Warfield,  Paul Krause,  John Randle,  Dave Wilcox, Curly Culp,  Leroy Kelly, Rickey Jackson,  Kenny Houston,  Jimmy Taylor, Elvin Bethea, Tom Mack, James Lofton, Tom Mack, Mel Renfro, Dave Robinson and Jan Stenerud

Also confirmed are former Super Bowl stars Ed “Too Tall” Jones, Thomas “Hollywood” Henderson,  Jerry Kramer,  Fred “The Hammer”  Williamson, Ricky Hunley, Garo Yepremian, Chuck Foreman, Mark Clayton, Bart Oates  and Ottis “OJ” Anderson.

Open to the general public, the tournament entry fee is a donation of $1500 per golfer to the NFL Foundation. In addition to golf, each participant will receive NFL Super Bowl apparel as well as a commemorative photo with his or her photo with their celebrity captain taken on the course and presented at the tournament conclusion.

Breakfast will precede a 9 a.m. shotgun tee off. Food and beverages will be served on the courses and an awards party will immediately follow golf.  Each member of the first, second and third place teams on each course - as well as the winners of special contests on the courses - will receive specially-made Super Bowl game-ball trophies from Wilson.
